Choice between JPMC Commerical Bank and JPMC Private Bank
Hey everyone, I have been presented with two options at JPMC. One as a banking associate in the Commercial Bank and the other as a Associate Banker in the Private Bank. I was wondering if anybody can compare and contrast these two options in terms of progression, salary, quality of life. Both of these opportunities are in the same smaller market. Thanks and I look forward to your input.
What are the job descriptions for each?
The banking associate for the commercial bank primary role is to work existing deals as well as to eventually bring business into the bank. Probably 30% out of office with clients and 70% in office working through the deal. The private bank associate is working the existing banker's (who is a VP or Executive Director) book of clients. Kind of like a COO. As you develop you begin to go out and get your own clients. About 40% out of office with clients.
