Co-head of TMT at GS has left the bank
Anthony Noto, who was the co-head for TMT, based in NYC, has left the bank and is joining HF Coatue Management.
What are your thoughts?

People who work in finance changes jobs more often than people in other industries. Sometimes, if a person is senior enough, they write about it in Dealbook.
Probably gonna start winding down the whole IBD, imo
I chuckled
lol
Interesting...although he had already left GS once in 2008 to become CFO of the NFL, and rejoined a few yrs later
I wouldn't worry about the GS TMT group...it still in VERY good hands (Gene Skyes, George Lee)
Decent run for Noto. Anyone have additional insight into the impact his departure might have on group's numbers or culture?
This could put this coatue hedge fund on the map, assume they are pretty unknown unlike the top dog GS but maybe he could turn it around or maybe built up their tech practice or something.
is this sarcasm? Coatue is already well known as one of the very best tech HFs out there.
go lurk some more.
And all you kids say it's impossible to move to the buy side after the Analyst level. WSO members wrong again.
Also head of insurance in GS FIG gone. Is this the end?
not true - heard the guy who left wasn't even a partner (so nowhere near group head) and had no shot at getting it
Is Mike Ronen sticking around?
Surprised he left for Coatue as I heard they were having some problems. Must have gotten a pretty sweet comp package.
