Computer Science and BBA Degree Job Prospects
Hello,
What type of jobs do people get if they come out of their undergraduate school having achieved a BBA and a CS minor/major from a target school that is also well-ranked in CS?
Also, nowadays, is it beneficial and appealing to do a CS degree along with a BBA?
CS is a very marketable degree so are BBAs from top business schools. That sounds very difficult to do both, network, internships and maintain a competitive GPA.
Regarding GPA, wouldn't employers be more lenient with people who got a dual degree though, especially when one of the majors is related to the sciences?
In my experience (math/bba) there is some degree of leniency, and some preferential treatment by certain types of people/firms if you do a STEM double. It's not going to make up a full point in GPA difference (probably won't even make up half a point if I had to guess) and the roles/types of people that would prefer you aren't the core demographic of this website.
I'd study what you enjoy learning about and go from there, but that's just me. Jobs from CS+BBA can hit a pretty broad spectrum. Probably best to learn a little about both, figure out what excites you and then worry about how to do what you enjoy after school.
