Consulting, a dream or a reality?

What MC firms are in reach for upcoming FT recruiting?

Non target undergrad junior, accounting/finance 3.8 major gpa, 3.5 cumulative.

Experience: upcoming big 4 risk advisory internship, marketing manager for local company, freelance marketing.

Extracurricular: started consulting club this year, led valuation/FDD engagement for $10m annual revenue retailer and marketing strategy for new restaurant.

Is there also anything I can do from now till summer to increase my profile?

3.5 may be low for MBBs, given that you're in a non-target. Big 4 or T2/3 would be possible depending on networking and case prep efforts

MBB/T2 are probably out unfortunately

B4 can be tough because even though they take big class sizes and aren't as competitive, GPA still matters and they tend to be very regimented in their recruiting pipelines

If I were you, I would (1) see if there's any way you can get a  good referral (i.e. from a senior person) at a B4 or other big firm, of course reach out to people yourself but also don't be afraid to ask any professors you're close to or anything like that, and (2) start networking with smaller/more boutique firms because they tend to have less strictly defined recruitment pathways, so a referral can go a long way

Appreciate the feedback, I'll definitely keep networking, gotten some luck at a big 4 with an alumni who will give me a reference. I'm trying to go right out of undergrad, but if I have to go into audit/deals/F500 corp fin first -> MBA -> consulting then I will. Just hoping I don't have to wait 4-7 years.
