Consulting firms that have given interns guaranteed FT offers

McKinsey, Deloitte, PwC, Strategy&, LEK, KPMG, Oliver Wyman have done this....notably absent from this list is Bain, BCG, and Accenture. Wonder what it's going to take for them to pull the trigger.

EDIT: Bain has said their internship is virtual, but they aren't giving offers to everyone.

Yes, I do not understand why MBB is giving no guidance. I have been told to expect some kind of summer programming. I'm so stressed because I'm an international student who only stayed in the US when campus closed for my internship instead of going home and now I still don't even know if I'm going to get paid to be able to afford housing this summer once campus closes. I really hope they will tell us this week what exactly is happening. What I have heard about MBB is it's most likely a remote internship.

From what I've heard from the recruiting partner, our internship will be remote and we will be paid for the full amount for the summer. More specifically, McKinsey has been incredibly busy with more public sector work on COVID advisory, so will likely have work. BCG I've heard something similar but not specific to public sector. Bain will also be placing summers on projects, but no idea what that will look like. This is all at the MBA level, not sure if it also applies for undergrad interns.

I don't know if it will guarantee return offers but email from partner stressed importance of interns looking at talent pipeline in 2021 and beyond. So I expect at least the same level of intern retention as previous years? Also MBB have all aready started recruiting for full-time/intern 2021 at my school so I don't think the full-time pipeline has been weakened that much and a recovery is expected.

Wouldn't getting paid mean that a student could rent a place to live for the summer so that they can work there if they find their living situation uncomfortable? I think that the working from home mandate is not really within the control of the firms rather a matter of regulation. Plus Microsoft, Apple and a lot of other tech firms have done the same thing where interns WFH.

I think it's dependent on the recovery of the economy over the next few months. Consulting usually gives out offers to most of the interns and hires even more people in full-time. So I don't think if there is a decrease it will be because of the fact that people were given full time offers(you can assume that about 90% would have gotten them anyways).

I think the # of FT is more dependent on the state of the economy and work at the time. Given that firm are technicallyhiring for summer/fall 2021 when they hire full-time it's hard to tell if the economy will be doing well enough then that they will need a lot of new people or if we will be in a sluggish recovery with not much consulting work to do. So depending on whether it's V, U or L shaped recovery, it will vary. I feel as though they might hire a little less than usual just to be safe and not have to let people go if things are not good by f2021 but also they probably have better economic projections of what demand for their services will be then.

I believe the internship was cancelled but they were extended full time offers. But they also did this very early. I think they were the first in consulting to do something with their summer.

So apparently, McKinsey is giving guaranteed full-time offers with opt-in working and full pay for summers. Bain NA confirmed full pay and virtual internships. Nothing from BCG yet.

I'm kinda jelly tbh. I wasn't told McK was the one that was nicest to its employees.

Curious about the source. I haven't got anything back from McKinsey.

I can't confirm McKinsey but it also says the same thing on other forums. But the opt-in work choice is a bit odd. I can confirm Bain has said internsip is same length virtual from a friend. BCG hasn't said anything :(.

One MBB just confirmed via email that all MBA Summer internships will be remote for the duration of the program. Still 10 weeks in length and paid in full.

Not too sure how to feel about this? Obviously very grateful to still have an internship at all but apprehensive about the impact o experience.
