Coping with busy schedules

I do not know if it ever happens to you. I've got work, business, house renovation and do all the chores in the house. I've got busy schedules and I easily flare up and get mad. At times, I'm worried and devastated. Am I having an anxiety disorder already?

You're a partner? Hire someone for the house shit. Hire an assistant.

  1. Delegate as much off your plate as possible. Chores, renovation, etc can all be paid for.
  2. If paying for things puts you in a financial bind, earn more money (really - focus your time on earning money, not doing all the other crap, and you'll make more money)
  3. Schedule enjoyment time and STICK TO IT. Even if it's just an hour here or there, something that makes you happy and rejuvenates you.

"Perfunctory" Find space for time with family and friends. Work out. Talk it out with a spouse of therapist.

Hi, thanks for your advice. I will try to cope with the situation or find time for myself.

I appreciate all your concerns about my current situation. Yes, I have my brother and my husband to assist me with other matters. But, my mom is insisting that I need to consult a professional help (https://www.betterhelp.com/advice/depression</a">https://www.betterhelp.com/advice/depression). She's telling me that I'm already stressed out and displaying unusual behavior. I remember that she was in the same situation and she believes that counseling will help improve my way of thinking and deal with problems easily.

Hope everything will be okay with you @harshback. Try to seek counseling. It will change your views on life.

I would listen to your mother. It doesn't hurt to schedule a preliminary appointment with a licensed professional. Mental health is no joke. I have seen therapists simply to talk through things and have felt better about my situation every single time.

Thanks so much for your advice! I will take note of those things.

Don't take those people in the "walk away number" thread seriously. If someone really offered you a billion dollars in exchange for leaving finance, only a complete idiot would turn the money down. The only reason they talk all high and mighty is because it will never happen, and it looks cool.

Most of the rah!rah! work like a dog-whohoo! folks are very young, haven't even worked yet, or haven't worked enough to feel it set in. It's not easy, you sacrifice a lot, and companies really don't give a damn about you and can lay you off anytime. I happen to like my job and don't hate the long hours, but heck yea I wish I had more free time on my own to do what I wanted. If you don't really like the job AND it comes with long hours, you're going to be absolutely miserable working everyday. Not worth it

My interest is in the future, because I am going to spend the rest of my life there. Work hard today for a better tomorrow. Nobody likes studying for exams, but we do it so we don't have to be "busy" for the rest of our lives.

TheKing My point here is that, while it is important to set goals and to work towards them, it's even more important to understand why you are setting these goals and, further, to understand that life is not simply about achieving miscellaneous milestones, but about enjoying the journey.

Don't simply aim to achieve goals because you feel as though it's what you should be doing. Instead, make sure that you're working towards things that you enjoy. The last thing you want to do is find yourself trapped in an endless schedule of resume building activities and not even know why.

Disagree. You should achieve as many goals and get as many finance certifications as possible so you will have an impressive resume to engrave on your tombstone. Without a stellar tombstone resume, obviously you won't get into a prestigious afterlife.

"Tombstone resume" and "prestigious afterlife" that just cracked me up!! gotta love the sarcasm.

couldn't let go of my pair of aces...

Great piece. Oftentimes it is indeed more beneficial to reduce the clutter of tackling numerous projects and instead focusing efforts on a select few.
