Cover Letter Example/Template

Does anybody have a good template or example of a cover letter that they use? If it has blanks or "xyz" typed out in the spaces where I would change for each specific job/my skill set, that would be awesome. I am just unaware what should really be talked about/highlighted for REPE or development jobs. Thanks for any help or advice!

I copy and pasted the template I always use. My buddy is a recruiter for financial jobs and set me up with it. Feel free to use

Dear Mr./Ms. [Hiring Manager’s Name],

Thank you for the opportunity to apply for (position name) at (company). As a detail-oriented analyst with a BS in XYZ, I have great interest in the role. My experience aligns well with the qualifications you are seeking at (company), in particular my current and former role as XYZ Analyst and XYZ Analyst, and I am certain that I would make a valuable addition to your firm.

In my 18+ months as both an Analyst and Senior Analyst at XYZ, I have held the responsibility of (explain role). Throughout my time at XYZ, I have developed extensive analytical abilities supported by a strong understanding of commercial real estate and mortgage banking. These skills help me (do my job, explain role again). This will prove helpful when (mention correlating duties with position you are applying for)

Furthermore, by managing client relationships and working closely with departments such as X, Y, and Z, I enhanced my client-interaction, adaptiveness, and teamwork skills. My competencies in critical thinking and strategic financial analysis have been further developed through CREFC and MBA conferences and training seminars.

I am confident that my passion for commercial real estate finance, my analytical and technical skills, as well as my educational and professional background, make me an excellent candidate for the (position) at (company). I will contribute much value to the firm and its investors (if public or some other BS to show how much you "care"). My resume is enclosed and will give you further insight into my skill sets, accomplishments, and experience in this sector. I look forward to discussing my application with you further.

I appreciate your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Analyst 2, RE-Comm

EDIT: if you can't tell, I was a d/e analyst and this was the template I used. Surely you can edit this to have it geared towards REPE/Dev
