Dating in Trading

As I seek out more trading opportunities, I also seek out dating someone. But most people I meet with on Tinder, Bumble, and all the others seem to offer lower quality mediocre people. I will be transferring to New York in less than a year and I wonder if it is even worth the time to seek out a partner. After working 12-14 hours a day it is hard for the common people to understand why I work outside of the market hours. It is that lack of understanding that repulses me from these people. No ambitions, no goals, they are okay with being average, yet when they meet me, I get the classic message, "I feel like a failure around you." So is there any kind of dating apps or networks pertaining to people like us.

Oh boy...

I’m going to try to be nice, because I struggle socially sometimes too. But you have to drop the attitude... referring to others as “common people”, acting like working 14 hours a day makes you special - it doesn’t.

The most successful people I know are not crazy work horses, and this goes for all areas of finance. Most of them are smart, likable, HUMBLE (emphasis on this one for you), and are basically normal dudes outside of the fact that they kill it at work.

I would use the New York move as a chance to reinvent yourself, socialize more (not just dating - make friends with guys and girls), pick up hobbies, and you’ll find dating will come easier.

Dating apps are better in NYC than anywhere else, but still not great compared to meeting people the old fashioned way. Maybe try Hinge too
