Poached some talent from CS back in the Quattrone days. Currently pretty solid I guess. Not the best tech group out there, but certainly not the worst either.

The team was a group based around Tor Braham, who was an M&A guy under George, rather than Frank. He's an old lawyer, and has some decent relationships up and down the Valley. It's performed decently well by DB standards under his stewardship, after an aborted attempt to rebuild the practice by lifting out Bob Thornton's tech M&A team from Lehman (which was overall an unmitigated disaster, in my opinion).

That lift-out was itself a result of Karl Will's departure to head Tech M&A at Merrill Lynch, although he's now at JPM, I believe. Merrill hired him when Mark Shafir took most of the ML team to Weisel, although he and his team have now resurfaced at Lehman.

one of my best friends works for this group

I'm pretty sure they did hire most of Lehman's semi team

this group does a lot of deals, however, it's a total sweatshot. Plus, they are terrible at placing analysts in top PE firms afterwards... unlike UBS SF
