Direct Lending: MidCap Financial

I recently received an interview with MidCap Financial and was curious to know if the people of WSO would know more about it. From their website, it seems as though it is Apollo's Direct Lending division and they have a sizable amount in capital. Interview is with their LevFin group and I am not sure about the firm or the group itself. Would be happy to hear the community's thoughts on this.

Thank you.

Seemed like a decent group. It's Apollo's MM focused credit group (believe they have a separate one for larger deals). They do best in HC (where I've seen them), but compete on the levfin side for other sectors too. Tough space as the supply of lenders is worse than the equity providers, relative to opportunities, from my perspective.

Hey playtheman,

I was a sophomore last year and went through the process you're talking about. From my experience, it was much more valuable to network with professors/alumni from you school. I come from a small non-target LAC and still managed to get a SA internship at a BB (not in IB specifically though).

Hope this helps!

Bump as well, I'm curious as to the East Coast Office particularly.

Honestly just want to learn more about the space in general to become knowledgeable, if anyone has resources to point me towards (instead of specifically to this firm, although it's the one I'm currently interested in)

"I did it for me...I liked it...I was good at it. And I was really... I was alive."

Why does comp sound so low here? I'm at a MM DL within a PE firm and we pay Associate 1 $265k.
