Distressed Hedge Fund to VC?

So coming up to end of my first year in M&A and looking to jump ship.

Ultimately I want to do VC, but that only seems accessible after 3/4 years of experience.

Am currently considering a few junior positions at distressed debt hedge funds and just wondering
how it would impact my chances of getting into VC later down the line?

I was thinking I could go from distressed HF to distressed PE and then to VC, or would distressed HF to VC be possible?

what funds are you looking at? it'll depend.

How so exactly? Are you trying to say that if I was to go to Oaktree it would be easier to get into VC than Oak Hill, for example?

You know you've been working too hard when you stop dreaming about bottles of champagne and hordes of naked women, and start dreaming about conditional formatting and circular references.

I'm trying to say Oaktree is PE in some buckets, and standard HY in others. SVP is more PE, DK more claims and dirty things. Elliott less PE more diverse....etc..
