Do some hedge funds not like candidates who have worked at another hedge fund?
I think I have heard or read somewhere before that some hedge funds do not like candidates who have worked at another hedge fund, as there may be a perception that they are already shaped into a particular investment style, that may be at odds with that fund’s style. Obviously, I imagine this largely does not apply to candidates at funds run by too fund managers (Elite tiger cubs, etc).
In general, how much truth does that hold?
Hey crazi4ib, I'm here because nobody responded to this thread after a few days...maybe one of these resources will help you:

Not entirely true. Hedge funds will hire people from other hedge funds that have a similar investment approach.
If you have worked at a multi manager for a while and are trying to switch to a value longer term focused shop, then yes that is probably not going to happen. Completely different investment approach.
That said, I worked at a multimanager for a year and was able to transition to a deep value distressed focused shop. So I can happen, but I would say that it is hard to switch to places with different investment styles, especially if you worked there for a while.
