I received an offer from USA a few weeks ago (didn't sign). There is no virtual superday. I had 4 sets of 2-3 phone screens. Ended up speaking to 11 or 12 people and got the offer. I know several people who also received an offer earlier this month, so I'm surprised they are still recruiting especially since they only take 5-6 SAs. I guess they also turned them down.

thanks so much for the clarification!!

hm that's so interesting. yeah - i have final round interviews this coming week and its basically like 3 phone interviews back to back with MDs/VPs.. but I've only had like 5 interviews prior so i'm not sure if its truly final. were your final few interviews technical with the higher ups or more behavioral? and also do you mind if i ask you why u turned them down lol

They made me do multiple sets of "final round interviews," so be careful. 6 of my 11 or 12 calls I had were under the name of "final rounds interviews." If you've only had 5 interviews so far, my guess is that you'll have one more set of interviews after this upcoming set. One of the last few interviews will definitely be a case interview. Make sure you know how to apply the knowledge/skills you read about in those guides. If you have experience doing banking case comps, you should be fine.

In short, I turned it down because I had a better offer from another firm. USA is a decent shop in tech, but there are also many other boutiques in SF bay area with better dealflow, stronger partners, etc.

I can confirm that there is no virtual super day. I also received an offer for the 2021 SA program but didn't end up taking it. Everything is over the phone, and once you get the offer, they'll invite you to a very chill zoom call with one of the partners. And yes, there is a case interview so be prepared.

thank you guys so much! oh god an on the spot case sounds scary. how did you guys prep for it and how much finance knowledge do you need to know? do they do like a deep dive into m&a related stuff?

also for your final round interviews did the quesitons get seemingly harder/much more behavioral or conversational rather than technical grilling?

Are they really still recruiting? A bunch of sophomores in my club got USA offers weeks ago. Must be having a tough time keeping candidates from taking other offers.

I know 2 kids(rumor of 3rd but not sure yet) that turned down offers at my east coast school, crazy because we have no alumni at USA and the class sizes are small.

I go to a target and know at least 4 people who turned down USA for another firm lol USA has been interviewing kids since mid-March. Must suck to give offers only to lose out to other firms.

The two kids who actually signed with USA are salty after finding out a bunch turned down offers and now they're throwing MS together like there's no tomorrow lmao

the people here seem nice but this whole process was way too lengthy, and quite frankly uneccessary and that's why their offer acceptance rate is low.

if BB's can wrap up their process with 2 interviews how tf does USA think they can hold people hostage for 2 months and 11 interviews. I would've genuinely accepted if I got the offer earlier but it was way too late into the early recruiting game and I had another offer that was better at the end. I liked some of my convos a lot/the location but it just isn't worth the super stringent recruiting process and drilling of its candidates

but hey, thanks for the interview prep ig?

The negativity in this thread is absurd... it's exclusively coming from @weststreet21 and @ivyntage who keep posting as anonymous people. It's literally just them.

The anonymity feature is relatively easy to circumvent. There's some real salt here... @ivyntage even posted on the other thread claiming to be a first year analyst and that he was "telling Jenn," which you'd only know by name if you went through the process. I'm sorry if her rejection email wasn't nice enough for you, but don't you two have anything better to do than polluting the same thread once a week pretending to be different anons?

You can throw monkey shit, but you guys do know it's you lol. Salt level unparalleled here (not worth checking their profiles for yourself. Anon comments aren't saved there)

First time on this post but the stuff in the thread is fairly accurate, the vast majority of kids with USA offers turn them down. It's still a great bank, have a friend there and he enjoys the culture.

Where'd you hear that from? When I was in their process they told me that they usually give around 6 offers and about 5-6 accept.

Considering that I know 3 people who rejected their offers, the logical conclusion would probably be that they lied to you
