Eurozone Economy Quietly Outshines the U.S.

Recently read a ft.com/content/0bbc026a-ea12-11e6-967b-c88452263daf">Financial Times article regarding the European Union and its economy. (For those without an FT subscription, here is a mirror link that I found.)

According to the article:

The Eurozone economy has now posted 14 consecutive quarters of development, the unemployment rate has returned to single digits, and financial sentiment has reached its highest degree in six years. As a result, Eurozone's development outpaced the US in 2016: 1.7% to 1.6%.

There are three reasons for the Eurozone's economic recovery:

  1. The European Central Bank’s ultra-lose financial coverage has finally worked as public expenditure has increased throughout all countries in the EU with the exception of Italy.
  2. It has been nearly a decade since the monetary disaster of ’07.
  3. The UK’s vote to depart has not proved to be a much of a shock as feared.

Do you think the EU's economic growth is sustainable? Personally, I am skeptical. There is too much political instability and debt in the European Union. However, I would love to hear your opinion regarding this topic.

Why do you think that is? Do you think there's outsized gains with financial firms relocating to the continent?

I lived in Europe for a decent amount of time and for the more producing countries I think it might be pretty good deal, particularly for Germany as this could cause an influx on some new cash, and due to their closer integration with continental countries, that could lead to investment in burgeoning developing areas, like Poland for example.

Additionally, the UK has historical experience with having trading partners further from home (i.e. the current Commonwealth), so it'll be interesting to see if this could lead to more integrated economic ties between those nations, definitely not politically since they're done with the whole empire thing.

Randy just doesn't understand. I mean I love him dearly but I hate Ricky more. I just don't wanna put up with that prick for the rest of my life. You know he grew up as a little shit spark from the ol' shit flint and then he turned into a shit bonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shit firestorm. If I get to be married to Barb, I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash a shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shit flames forever. And with any luck, he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shit waves.
