Ever thought about a life of crime?
Have you ever considered taking up a life of crime, not violent crime but something like a drug dealer or something?

yeah in the beginning of the movie 25th hour it was a thought, then they introduced the character Frank Slaugherty and I was right back to where i started...
Someone I'm close to got involved in the retail yay trade... def. made enough to pay rent, insurance, and then some off of NYU students, but it wasn't worth the risk and headaches associated with worrying about someone slipping up/snitching.
high profile thief ( valuable art, precious stones etc.)
Cigarette smuggling. Buy in VA, sell in NYC, make $2 million a truckload.
Ive given lots of thought into moving to BC and growing pot.
The margins on chronic are paper thin. Not worth dealing it, even in wholesale volume... unless you just want money to smoke yourself and your friends into oblivion.
Totally depends on the type of weed, BC bud fetches 20k a kilo in Miami, that includes transport costs but its possible to make loads of cash in that business. Use your profits to fund other business ventures to legitimize your cash.
Mercenary/Hitman would be sick...
Yeah, crime is great until that little thing called "prison sodomy" comes around.
I feel like I would be most organized cocaine dealer on earth. I feel like I was made for this shit. but yea, its wrong, so my only other option was Wall Street.
Actually no I take this back, I would be the ultimate Ecstasy dealer!!! no effin joke... I've clubbed in so many countries and seen so much bad shit gone down that I think I could master all the kinks... but yea, like I said.. finance...
If I ever turned to a life of crime, it would be some James Bond type shit. And at that point it would be for pride and excitement, not really material gain. I think stealing a billion dollars from Federal Reserve would be interesting. Hijacking a space craft. Kidnapping Dalai Lama and just shooting shit with him for a while. Also to see if he can stay as calm as he preaches, when the pressure is on him.
Petty crime just seems so degrading.
I never said it was the wholesale price.
zzz
The criminal life that looks coolest is 'corrupt high level defense contractor'. Not the Lord of War mafia dopes, but the well connected corporate players. They get to do ALL the cool stuff: * play with all the cool toys * hang out on site with various military / paramilitary goups * consort with all sorts of criminal and international intelligence groups * every president loves you no matter WHAT they say to the public * you make a bloody fortune ....and then get to go on TV and tell people that they're helping to keep them safe: and you're STILL telling the truth. The name of the game is PR + relationship management ;)
Lots of people have 'fractured' a rule or two to get by, but deliberately seeking out a criminal life, ESPECIALLY in today's world, well, it's basically just a matter of time before you get taken down. I rmember watching the footage of Pablo Escobar getting hunted down like an animal and then shot. BinLaden.....shot. Eric Prinz....moving to MENA. Madoff....jail. Seriously: not worth it.
The FBI, the DEA, ATF et cetera - they all have way too much technology at their disposal now. They have already been alerted to this WSO thread, they know all your names, addresses and what you like to eat for breakfast. Haha, jk. But seriously though, they eventually catch everyone they are after these days. The era of the untouchable mafia and Whitey Bulger is totally over. Mafia guys nowadays drive around in Kia's, shop at Walmart and all they do is run numbers. They are all dead broke and probably work real blue collar jobs during the days. There are no sophisticated scams to get away with anymore.
I'm sure there are exceptions. The vast majority get caught though.
I feel like every time the good guys come up with new technology, it's only a matter of time before the bad guys figure out a way to work around it. Technology improves on both sides.
you'd probably be better off insider trading than dealing. that being said, unless you have no ability to delay instant gratification is probably just worth it to work for your living (or study so you can work where you want)
