exits opps for people outside of MBB firms??
It seems like those people who are in M/B/B, tend to have plenty of options, in all regards.
However, I was curious to know about where analysts/associates end up from strategy firms outside of the top M/B/B??
Do opportunities come naturally via client engagements and/or headhunters? Or do you have to go hunting?
Can any provide specific examples of what people are doing after a few years of strategy consulting outside of MBB?
Is it safe to assume, that most exit opps will only pay similar or less pay? (this is talking about non-MBB employees) Especially when you value perks like healthinsurance/meals, etc?
The reason why I ask is because I feel like there is a HUGE difference between what a top M/B/B can do for your career vs. other less reputable firms. In comparison (and i hate to make this comparison), to I-Banking where kids from the top 10-15 banks still have good or similar placement to that of goldman/ms/JPM kids.
I don't think the exit opp difference between MBB and Booze, OW, LEK, ATK is significantly more pronounced than the difference between a GS v. Jefferies. Obviously a lot depends on your work, your group, etc, but generally speaking.
Now if you get beyond those consultancies, I think you're right and the difference is significant compared to a comparable boutique bank or what have you. Others feel free to disagree.
