Somehow I don't think that the FDA believes that people are capable of mixing alcohol and caffeine on their own, so clearly if they ban it this will lead to a saner, more sober population.

What I hate about this ban is how it targets drinks that are related and controlled. Now people will simply take caffeine supplements, red bull, monster, whatever and make their own LOCO.

I pounded one of these over the weekend and it did nothing. The taste is so rancid I wanted to puke. That was the second time I drank it and I didn't experience any of the shit they mentioned.
If you really want to fuck yourself up along with some lady friend try this on for size:
Half a glass (or 3/4) of absinthe mixed with Red Bull and topped off with P.I.N.K vodka (this vodka is infused with guarana, etc). Drop a sugar cube or two in as well.
Two or three of those and the panties come flying off. Yours and hers.

It is quite an experience. I was bored in the kitchen one night and this was the result of that boredom. I actually got a bar to make it here the city. Of course, the absinthe here is a bit different then the Czech and French version.

Oh man. I've been to Prague. One of our group got tired and she sat down for a minute. Within 10 minutes she had 5 bucks in quarters cause people thought she was homeless. Also almost got knifed by a drug dealer.

I was hanging out at the club BED right in Old Town Square and i was chatting up a small group of girls and guys. I admit, they looked young, but whatever. After about two hours, one of the girls started getting really cozy and friendly. It comes out (no pun intended) that this broad is 16. I say, "I can go to jail for this." Her response (in a seductive Russian accent), "Only in your country". FML.

I decided to read about Four Loko to see what the fuss was about and there are some crazy stories posted here:

The recent ones appear to be fake, but the a couple days back before controversy started it seems these are pretty potent drinks. I mean Sparks used to have these things in them and had to reformulate due to the numerous blackouts.
Consider this the cheap $2.50 can has malt liquor (the cheapest and worst kind) plus 3 different types of stimulants (caffeine, taurine + guarana). I mean guarana is a stimulant drank alone in Brazil and added more to the mess. I found it hilarious reading all these horrible stories because alcohol produces a signal for you to become sleepy in order not to over drink. The stimulants on the flip side negate that effect and you don't even feel drunk and continue drinking causing people to blackout but remain active.
Never tried it, but considering this is marketed to the younger crowd I'm not too surprised the regulatory board is coming in. I mean can you imagine what WSO would have said when action was taken against cigarette companies for marketing their sh&t to young adults / teens...
Despite it all, get some while supplies last. I may grab one just to see what it's all about.
