Fluke?

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I did well with OCR. I got a little over 15 interviews in total. I had a range of different firms from solid buy side opportunities, a lot of MM banks, and solid boutiques (a step below Evercore, Lazard, Moelis). I only got one BB interview for some reason but the BB was solid.

I went through the first week of recruiting and had about 5 interviews. The BB got back to me very quick - I went to the superday, got an offer, and accepted.

I felt great at the time. I had gotten accepted an offer with a great bank.

However, the next week I heard back from the other 4 interviews I had, and I didn't get a single other second round invitation. I fucked up 2 of those interviews to varying degrees (one I bombed, the other I made a slight error in a technical). The other 2, though, I felt like were good interviews.

I am really happy with my offer, but I keep thinking "how did I get an offer with a BB if I couldn't even get second rounds with smaller banks?"

Was my offer a fluke? Am I just over thinking this?

haha long time lurker and decides to make an account for this...

move on everything else is irrelevant, congrats on the offer!

What was the technical you messed up on, btw?

The difference between successful people and others is largely a habit - a controlled habit of doing every task better, faster and more efficiently.

Personality is more important at smaller places. So maybe they just liked others better, whereas at the bob the just thought you are a qualified candidate but they didn't actually consider working with you.
