bacticu...Check out Analyst Training Programs under DB website...no internships needed. Looking for international life experience. Applications on line now.

Tried to pm you, but can't find the darn thing. Early morning were I am and my spelling and ability to function are failing rapidly.

Good luck. Checking out for tonight. Let me know how it looks to you.

Did you go to the Boston Career Fair last weekend by any chance??

Cheers

summered at Troika and now trying to decide if I want to come back or stay in the U.S.....

tough choice but would be happy to talk about whatever you guys want

overall, i loved working there and actually looked forward to going to work. Part of the reason was probably my analyst team and the intern class in general. Amazing people, fun and young, everybody knows each others name. Employers seem to be treated very well. Overall, very unique culture modeled by the Western Standards but at the same time very collegiate, friendly and professional. No need to explain that the firm is doing very well - sure you guys are aware of this.

Troika is great. London office does not really have formal traing I have heard. Where you in NY/London/Moscow/elsewhere? My pesonal opinion is that one needs to be at a firm where they feel the most comfortable. The better the fit with style and colleauges, the more pleasant the atmosphere.

They are doing real well--I would go with them in a New York minute....if only I was a native Russian speaker.

Did you find that all FT analysts there had previous had internships?? Not that way in London as I know a few hires with the education but not direct intern experience.

Cheers

john it seems like a lot of companies say that internships aren't needed, but in reality its a necessity.

This is simply not true.

If you are refering to a handful of the big boys most likely, yes.

But it is the whole package the firms are getting, not ust 10 wks of an internship that may or may not be in the div/dept one is applying to FT.

I mean this in the kindest way possible. Something is wrong with how you have packaged yourself to sell to all the firms you have applied to.

I seriously suggest you pay someone a few hundred bucks to help review/rewrite your cover letter and resume and prepare you for on-line tests and interviews. It is one thing to read about it in theory and another to be actuallly out there getting call backs.

No need to whine about internships, that is not your only stumbling block. There has to be more to the entire picture.

Cheers
