Fordham MS in Global Finance vs Babson MS in Finance
Hello!
I am an international student from India. I have currently gotten acceptances from the two programs mentioned above. My goal after the program is to obtain employment in the US, preferably on the buy side in asset management or equity research. I have listed some of the features of both the programs relevant to me and also considering that it is extremely difficult as an international to gain employment afterward.
Fordham:
-Location is great for networking.
-Good alumni presence. ( Not sure specific to asset management though)
Babson:
-Probably a better brand name than Fordham.
-Exposes me to the Boston market.
-Can make networking trips to NY
-Features like the Babson College fund where they give students an opportunity to manage a part of their endowment fund makes it a very practical approach based program, especially relevant to my interests.
-Heard Fidelity hires from here and has quite a few Babson alumni in their workforce.
So while Fordham seems all about the location and networking opportunities, the above points have me leaning a little towards Babson. What do you guys think? Does all this offset not being in NY?
Also, if I am considering these two, should I think about applying to Baruch as well?
