Fordham Real Estate Institute at Lincoln Center

First post... I tried linking the article / press release by Real Estate Weekly dated 12/15/16 but it doesn't allow me to post links since I am new to the site. (Easy google I guess for anyone interested.) The article also includes a link to Fordham University Real Estate Institute's website.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Looks like there are four different areas. (Real Estate Finance and Investment, Real Estate Financial Modeling, Real Estate Development, and Construction Project Management) It appears NYU is getting rid of their graduate certificate in real estate and focusing on their masters program while Fordham is building their professional certificate program.

Also, on a related topic, I have a question: If I am already in the real estate industry and happy with my job but went to a small business school (accounting/finance degree and mba) that isn't very well known, would adding a real estate certificate from a larger school like Fordham add any value to the education section of my resume or biography? I believe I would already know most of the included material through on-the-job experience or previously taken courses or certificates. I'm curious since I already ruled out getting my Masters in Real Estate at this point in my life but saw this as a potential opportunity for something to do in the short-term instead.

All advice welcome. Thank you.

No don't do it. Fordham is expensive and I don't believe they have any specific real estate staff. Not to day that it is not a great school, but I think this certificate program is just a way for the school to increase their revenue. Unless they say who their professors are, what their backgrounds are and who their students work for then I would very wary.

Thanks. Suppose I already have those designations. Would a certificate from a "known" school add any more credibility to my resume since my degree and MBA are from smaller "unknown" schools. Thanks
