In my experience, just get any finance experience your freshman summer - something you will be able to talk about when you network and apply for better soph year internships

Yes absolutely, that's def better than what I had my freshman summer.
If you are deadset on IB tho, you can try networking with some of the small boutiques, but it might be unpaid
