Freshman Internship Advice

What's up guys I've been lurking this forum for a month or so and I'm looking to get some advice as to how I can secure some experience during my freshman summer so I can learn.

I am a freshman at a non-target school but I will be at a semi-target school in the fall for my sophomore year. I got a 4.0 my first semester and I am projected to get a 4.0 for my second one. I'm located in the greater Seattle area.

I have no experience in finance but I can type 107wpm and I am proficient in excel.

I've done some research on here and saw that I should be looking at cold emailing boutique IB firms, PWMs, or search funds. Aside from google, is there a better website I can use to find firms in my area? Are there any other places you guys would suggest I contact?

Would getting an internship at a commercial bank be beneficial if I can't obtain one somewhere else? I'm interested in IB and would like to have some experience on my hands as early as I can.

In short, I'm trying to understand what types of places I should be looking at that would give me experience for IB, how I find these places, and any big no-no's or tips when I go about contacting said places.

Thanks all, any advice is appreciated.

In my experience, just get any finance experience your freshman summer - something you will be able to talk about when you network and apply for better soph year internships

If you are deadset on IB tho, you can try networking with some of the small boutiques, but it might be unpaid
