Equity research at a HF? I am a bit confused.
I meant research analyst. My apologies, will edit the question. Thank you for pointing it out.
If you have any coding skills I would try and leverage them or go for a MFE. The CFA never hurts, but doing it on top of a Phd would probably drive you insane. Another option would be a Comp sci masters.
Hi Ehmerica, thank you for your reply. If you don't mind me asking, what's your opinion on comp sci master vs MFE? I think both options are available for me but I am not sure which one gives me more leverage during my job search.
SB because OP is respectful and thoughtful with his responses
Thanks man!
I would definitely aim for CS degree as it is a much more sought after skill in various fields. I have to ask though, I'm sure you have experience in MatLab, Python, and C, no? I have a lot of undergrad friends and family that graduated as Chem or ChemE and they all had to take a lot of programming courses.
Hi MarkBaum. Thanks for the reply! Yep, you are right. I am familiar with MatLab, Python, and R also know the basics of C and Java. Given that, do you think I should still pursue a CS degree?
