FT recruiting without summer IB Internship

hi guys, what do you think my prospects are for recruiting IB full-time come fall, given the current economic state. i go to a target, but my gpa is not that high (3.48) and i don’t have a relevant IB internship this summer. my original internship got cancelled at a top research and advisory firm, and i was hoping to use this as an opportunity to pivot to IB, since banking was always something i’ve wanted to do, but scared to pursue because of the stigma.

some things i’m doing now is practicing my technicals so i know them cold, and starting my networking and cold-emailing process. even if i do everything that i can now to improve my circumstances, what are my honest chances to enter an IB firm right after graduation? any thoughts/advice greatly appreciated, thanks !

I'd have pretty low expectations given that most banks will try to convert their entire intern class first. With some banks overhiring, you'll be competing with those looking to lateral to another bank as well.

Why do you even feel comfortable giving advice as a prospect. While what you said is true, let people who are actually full-time in the industry respond to this guy. Tired of seeing interns/prospects act like they are qualified to give advice. I know as an intern I don't feel qualified. Know your place

Sorry I've been seeing prospects/interns giving advice to people in the industry in other threads recently and this one just happened to set me off. Just tired of seeing prospects give advice like they've been in the industry for years when their only experience is browsing wso.
