Full-Time Analyst Recruiting Timeline

It seems everyone is either about to have final rounds, or waiting to hear back after them. Is anyone still waiting for first rounds?

I am assuming a good majority of IBanks will be done with recruiting by the time Thanksgiving rolls around..would that assumption be correct?

On a side note, Congrats to all the seniors who have secured their offers, and best of luck to the ones who are still working at it.

Any further thoughts on the timeline are welcome.

Here are a few things you could try:

  • Check the regional boutiques (use the Capital IQ thread), some start recruiting cycles later than Vault 50 and other big banks. Better to be in the industry and make a jump to BB (if you want) at a later point in time, than not be in the industry at all.

  • Look into Commercial Banking maybe, it might provide a possible springboard into IBD groups. Again, I know a few people who have done this in the past (Citigroup and JP Morgan).

  • Continue networking...you never know when a position might pop up and if you have a senior manager pulling for you...it could work out.

  • Also check out the finance job board at Vault.com, they generally have a few Investment Banking positions up from smaller firms...not to mention all other Financial Service Industry sectors (S&T, Consulting, PE, and others)
