Glencore graduate programme trader
Hi, I am running the Glencore Commerical Graduate Programme process and I have some doubts.
My only goal is to become trader. I am highly interested in physical trading (but also in paper trading as I did 1 year internship at top banks) and it would be my first carerr choice.
I understood that you can't become a junior oil trader after a few months at Glencore because physical trading involves a different knowledge than in BB. However, can someone confirm that after 2 years graduate programme they offer trading positions ? I don't want to be stuck in a middle office position...
where did you find the application? I did not see it on their site. The general consensus is that BP/Shell have the best grad programs
Your doubts are confirmed. stick to the banks or find a prop
Do Banks have big commodity desks? I thought they were downsizing and just poaching super major trader
Banks have significantly downsized commodities desk... definitely less liquid than what it used to be, for that reason the case for more anomalies to find the sense of relative value amongst each other.
Perfect, thanks for the answer.
Anyone know what majors Glencores program looks for? Could a finance major break in or do they look for more quantitative degrees?
I interviewed with a finance major and math minor (they liked I had energy specific coursework)
