GMAT Prep - Is Manhattan material considered the best?
Hi all - I'm an analyst a few years out of undergrad looking to start studying for the GMAT.
I've read numerous threads that all seem to throw support behind Manhattan's line of books/materials for the GMAT.
Does anyone have any suggestions on GMAT prep materials and/or general thoughts?

I'm using PowerScore for GMAT but only because I used them for LSAT and liked their structure. I'm also using the Official GMAT Guide by GMAC for practice questions. From what I've read, Manhattan seems to offer good quant material because they make their questions overly challenging on purpose.
My struggle is practice testing. Hard to find legitimate places to take practice tests with real questions that are also computer adaptive.
GMAT club has a forum where they post sources for free GMAT practice tests (some including CATs).
Mike and @BDWK thank you both for the info. I've heard the same thing regarding Manhattan offering relatively tougher questions.
It feels like yesterday I just studied for the ACT/SAT and now... back to more standardized exams
Thanks Mike_Wags I'll check them out when I get closer to test date. LSAT has books of practice tests I wish they had the same for GMAT. Although, I can see why it's harder for GMAC to crank out a lot of the CATs for free.
Manhattan quant is definitely harder than the actual exam - it can get a bit frustrating while studying. Overall I scored 90 points higher on the actual exam than I was consistently scoring on the Manhattan practice exams, so take the practice test scores with a grain of salt. Manhattan also has an online program that allows you to track how you are doing on all different question types and difficulty levels, so you can see exactly what areas you need to work on. Super useful. I also used some Veritas materials - they were solid too. And obviously the official GMAC books are good.

GMAT and the Manhattan GMAT Strategy Guides (Originally Posted: 02/16/2015)
So I took my first CAT today and ended up getting a 45 on both the verbal and quant. I was extremely surprised with getting a 45 on the quant because I felt like I was just guessing on quite a few. A part of me believes that the 45 on the quant was pure luck. Is it worth my time to go through all of the math MGMAT strategy guides or am I better off to spend my time doing real practice problems if I plan on taking the GMAT in 2-3 weeks?
i'd try to figure out your weak areas and focus on those guides. also do tons of problems from the official guide. check out gmatquantum.com for video explanations of all OG problems. very helpful.
Thanks! Definitely data sufficiency, but that was also the first time I had seen/done those types of problems. There were also formulas like standard deviation that I couldn't remember for the life of me and didn't realize I needed to know
go through the DS questions in both OGs and keep an error log of questions you get wrong. keep doing them until you fully understand them and can do them in
