Going from big tech strategy internship to consulting

I am currently interning at a large tech company this summer, think Google, Facebook, Salesforce, etc. in their strategy & operations department and I was curious about my odds for breaking into consulting. I have been looking at firms like Oliver Wyman, Strategy &, Deloitte, and Accenture. I have started networking with people from these companies, and everyone seems to be pretty helpful. I go to a small private school on the west coast that has good placement into tech, and ok placement into consulting with a lot of the alumni being at PWC, Accenture, and Deloitte. My GPA is nothing to brag about (3.4-3.5) and I am a political science major but with constant networking, I have been able to land internships at a boutique IB last summer doing M&A and now in the strategy department of my current company. I will be graduating this December (early) and basically, I am wondering what the recruiting process is like when it starts, and if my current role can help me leverage a position in one of these shops. Your work experience will be good esp if its FAANG, but honestly your GPA + going to a non-target will make it very challenging to get a look without a referral from somebody fairly senior. Competitive consulting firms care a lot about both going to a target school and GPA
You should be ready to apply in August and start interviews potentially soon after, which are interviews which include both standard behavioral and case components. Read the wiki on the recruitment sticky post of the consulting subreddit for resources
Thanks for the insight. I'm hoping to leverage the alumni network and work experience as much as possible. I have had really good traction at Accenture which is nice, but I am not too into the implementation and IT work they seem to do a lot of. Any idea of some boutique consulting firms to look at?
Below MBB and T2 firms, you can also look at strategy boutiques like Marakon, Mars, Kaiser Associates, Keystone Strategy (and Altman Solon for a TMT strategy boutique) - but a lot of people at any consulting company (including myself lol) will be looking to exit to tech strategy & operations, so if you get a return offer from your current company you can probably just skip the consulting step entirely
That would obviously be the ideal situation. However, I have only seen one person get hired from undergrad on this team and he was from a major target with an engineering background. It is honestly kind of dumb luck I got this position, they usually don't even have interns and I was fortunate by having a connection in the department. However, there is no precedent or rule saying that they do not give return offers to interns within this department, and my manager keeps saying I am kind of in a unique situation where they don't really have a policy with this stuff, so I could potentially slip in.
