Going to happy hour alone as a female

Hi. I recently moved to NYC. All my friends here are married. As a single woman in NYC (no online dating pls) I want to check out local bars during happy hour, if I get to leave that early that is LoL.

Any thoughts on meeting new people at Happy hour? Is it weird to go alone as a girl? I would love to bring a wingwoman but i got none…

Curious if you guys have any thoughts on this or have any cool tips? Thanks much

Ask for her age first.

Never discuss with idiots, first they drag you at their level, then they beat you with experience.

May be and may be not. He is probably lurking until he finds out the age.  If OP is 18-21, he is going to volunteer to be her new friend.

Going alone is only as weird as you make it out to be. If I were to strike up a conversation with someone who was happily there alone b/c they happen to enjoy the bar/drink or whatever and wanted to just decompress after work, I wouldn't see anything wrong with that. Better yet, if you just like exploring different bars and such regularly, it's even more normal. Now if the person clearly shows they're self-conscious about being there alone, then it manifests itself

Quantity over quality…😕

Huh?

I dont know. I notice men are looking at me whenever I am at a bar or wherever I go out, but rarely talk to me. I think I have RBF look? I get too shy and just look away when we have eye contact ROFL

I'm a guy but I got that RBF look too, my friends give me shit for looking too serious all the time. It's either too serious or I look like I forgot to turn the stove off lmao.
