Goldman Sachs verbal offer/background check process

About a week and a half ago I received a verbal offer from Goldman as a trade management analyst (operations) out of their SLC office. I've submitted all of the tedious paper over the past week for the background check and was supposed to get the offer letter during the process but have yet to see it. I'm just curious as to what others experience has been going through the process (time frame, etc.) as well as at what stage you guys found yourself finding/setting your start date.

Side note; Currently with another firm and am starting to get a little anxious about switching firms as I'd like to get a general idea of the time frame so that I can give my current managers a proper heads up
