Idk if alinea is open but alinea. For good persian food, Kabobi slaps
What kind of Chinese dishes do you like from there
Potsticker House (used to be called Ed’s Potstickers) on Halsted St.
Shanghai terrace. Expensive but the best Chinese food I’ve ever had
Northside: The best authentic Szechuan take out on the North Side is Chengdu Aroma. Hidden gem. D Cuisine is a new dim sum spot up north that is run by a real Hong Kong immigrant family, best tasting Dim Sum in the city IMO (not as fun of an experience as going to a Chinatown Dim Sum spot though).
Chinatown is always a short ride from the loop as well. Plenty of great and authentic restaurants there, just depends on what type of Chinese cuisine you’re looking for.
Chinese food is underwhelming in Chicago for the size of the city. On the North side, the best cheap spot I've found is House of Wah Sun in Lincoln Square - and I've tried them all.
