Grad school programs for RE investment careers in Texas?

What would be the best programs for RE investment careers in development or acquisitions (REPE or REIT) in Texas?

Main purpose for getting into grad program: move from Europe to USA.I have a choice of doing MSF/MRED with 2 years of RE development experience or waiting 1-2 more years and doing MBA. The problem is I want to move NOW and msf/mred would be shorter/cheaper and I would still have MBA option in the future if I want to switch/reset career.

I'm considering:

SMU MSF UT Austin MSF Texas A&M MRED UT Austin MBA Rice MBA

It seems to me that UT Austin Mccombs is the most prestigious one within Texas.

Any thoughts?

"Fidel_Cashflow" Not sure those are apple to apple comparisons. An MBA from Rice or UT would be viewed very differently than a MSF or MRE from A&M.

They're not. I have a choice of doing msf/mre having 2 year of RE development or I can wait and have 3/4 years of experience and go for MBA. My main purpose of getting degree is to move from Europe to USA.

UT MSF has STEM status, which has benefits in terms of staying in the US for non-citizen.

I did an MSF with no intention of going into RE, got some RE internships and got an offer from a well regarded developer by the time I graduated (which I now regret turning down). It really is what you make of it, and it helps that Dallas/ Austin RE scene is on fire right now.

SMU's Dallas network is just stupid and their RE program is really beginning to take off behind a combination of some generous donations from alumni and a concerted effort by execs to hire SMU kids.

Had a beer with an MP at a Dallas REPE who described push by execs as an effort to "create an SMU real estate mafia in Dallas".

I come from down in the valley, where mister when you're young, they bring you up to do like your daddy done

Just graduated SMU MBA program with RE concentration. Alumni network is incredible and RE program does a great job of getting you in touch with alumni. No problem landing a gig upon graduation
