GS Cross Asset Sales desk

Hey everyone,

First, I want to thank all of you for all the informative commentary on current topics, and questions as it relates to finance news and interview prep. I've been reading this site for quite some time but mostly read instead of contributing (until now).

I have an interview for a cross-asset sales job with GS next week. I'm only about 2 years out of undergrad currently working for a software consultancy (doing limited structured finance). Any of you have any insight as to the questions I might get asked. Any problem solving type questions?

Any and all feedback is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Nice guys, pretty fratty.... about 10-12 people, decent size sales desk. Blanfeins kid is on that desk. Have a clear view of the markets, where you think it is headed and be ready to pitch ideas. They essentially pitch views to all sides of the firm and work alot with the Merger Arb guys for some reason. They love guys that come in with tons of views/trade ideas. Will you be an analyst? Pretty top heavy, tons of VPs and very few associates and analysts. They have been trying to get younger guys for a while now.
