Had a first round campus interview --- Should I call to thank the interviewiers?

OK, I had first round interviews on Monday/Wednesday with non-BB but top 7 investment banks. They are both expected to get back by the end of this week.
I have emailed thank you notes by email to the interviewers.
I wanted to call them to thank them for the interview and to make sure I am fresh in their minds when they do the selection for the 2nd round. This is important becausse especially one them interviewed a large number of students in the first round.
Is this a good idea? Any thoughts?

This is for a post-MBA associate level position

Send them a nice note through mail. They will always remember a nice note through regular mail.

Thanks all for the responses.

Atropolation: Is it common in investment banking for people to send paper/handwritten notes after interviews?

I don't want to come across and anachronistic or a suck-up..

I agree that email is fine or maybe even regular mail. the thing with regular mail is that if it's delayed, it may not get there until after they've made their decision. However, in your case you've already sent an email so leave it at that. It drives me nuts when a client calls me if I'm busy (and they pay my salary), let alone an interviewee who's already emailed me.

My view: email is enough. Regular mail would be fine, but not in addition to email.

Agreed, it's not common, but it's definitely nice. You can even messenger it over if you are in the same area. If you've already emailed though, it's fine and just leave it at that.

LOL! LOL! I only suggested that for a very zealous candidate! You know, to beat the snail mail rush!
