Had a first round campus interview --- Should I call to thank the interviewiers?
OK, I had first round interviews on Monday/Wednesday with non-BB but top 7 investment banks. They are both expected to get back by the end of this week.
I have emailed thank you notes by email to the interviewers.
I wanted to call them to thank them for the interview and to make sure I am fresh in their minds when they do the selection for the 2nd round. This is important becausse especially one them interviewed a large number of students in the first round.
Is this a good idea? Any thoughts?

This is for a post-MBA associate level position
I find that the email is fine. some of them dont' even want your email, so calling them would be more intrusive. Just what i've noticed about the ppl who interview in my group.
I second that. Email is courteous, but an actual call is more likely to potentially come off as somewhat annoying / intrusive.
Send them a nice note through mail. They will always remember a nice note through regular mail.

Thanks all for the responses.
Atropolation: Is it common in investment banking for people to send paper/handwritten notes after interviews?
I don't want to come across and anachronistic or a suck-up..

It's not common, nor is it looked upon as anachronistic or sucking up. In my thoughts it's refreshing to know someone can take the time and effort to write them as opposed to shooting off an email. Would definitely recommend it.
I agree that email is fine or maybe even regular mail. the thing with regular mail is that if it's delayed, it may not get there until after they've made their decision. However, in your case you've already sent an email so leave it at that. It drives me nuts when a client calls me if I'm busy (and they pay my salary), let alone an interviewee who's already emailed me.
My view: email is enough. Regular mail would be fine, but not in addition to email.
Agreed, it's not common, but it's definitely nice. You can even messenger it over if you are in the same area. If you've already emailed though, it's fine and just leave it at that.

a friend who often did his interviews in teh morning, and dropped back to our career services center to hand deliver written notes on the same day. It was a little quirky, but kind of endearing.
That's sweet.

Have to admit, I would find it a bit stranage if a candidate sent me a thank-you note via messenger.
Hey first off good luck...
Second, first round interviews are basic fit. So the interviewer knows if you will be a second rounder before you leave the room, therefore, a written thank you is fine.
It is nice to send handwritten thank yous after or approaching the final round. Do not send a messenger.
I prefer courier for my hand-written notes, I also staple a fortune cookie to the back of the note.
Quirky? No. Briliant? Strikingly so!
LOL! LOL! I only suggested that for a very zealous candidate! You know, to beat the snail mail rush!
