Idk if this is a troll, but honestly I wouldn't be surprised if not. I'm indian and my best friend is white, and we noticed that his networking emails had a noticeably higher chance obtaining replies (whether alumni or complete cold contacts) compared to me. We both were born in the same areas and go to the same school, but I must say implicit bias is definitely present in this industry. Such is life, I guess. 

If anyone sees this dude's post and gets disheartened, please don't stop trying.

Life isn’t fair.

I’m Indian and I’m fatigued by the amount of random Indians trying to reach out (I guess not a surprise).

 I do respond to networking emails from anyone if you catch me at the right time when I’m not too busy but only if the profile stands out. 

If you’re Indian from India, I know what a good profile is - IIT / Stephens / SRCC / LSR / BITS / BHU / Xaviers undergrad, MBB, top bank or Tata or Lever etc, top US masters and ideally top work experience here - and I’ll respond. But 99% don’t have that profile and when you get so inundated, good profiles, even Indians from the US get lost in the mix. That’s what happens when there’s 1.4bn Indians.

You and your buddy should see who gets the most replies when reaching out to companies that own corner stores or hotels (insert any Indian-dominant company/field/industry).

edit: yes bring on the MS. You know it's the truth. I'll also add it's not just implicit bias, but also explicit bias

Any room for Asians? Asians shoot down Asians.. 

White men dominate most key positions in Finance yet you still have audacity to play victim. Don’t believe then go look at the data disclosed in JPM DEI report. You initiated DEI and then under pressure of white women pivoted towards gender quotas so white women can be rewarded overwhelmingly. 

All these privileges yet you only choose to go after racial minorities, many of whom like Asian and Brown men have never been part of any DEI quota.
