Harris Williams Vs Robert Baird
Let me know your thoughts please.....don't really know if I want to go into PE or stay in M&A...
HW team in the office has only 6-8 total, is that good? Bad?
Is the longer experience a given as it's a lot more expericence?
HW will guarantee that you work strictly on M&A given they do not have capital markets distribution capabilities. RW Baird on the other hand does capital markets transactions.
it depends which MDs will go and bat for you...
HW all the way.
I've heard about HW batting for you....are these two firms not very equal in the MM space for deal flow?
Why HW all the way!? I need that intuition! =d
Saw Harris Williams in the thread title, clicked on this thread to see how many posts down the phrase "go to bat" was. Thoroughly pleased to find it as the second reply and two more mentions of it afterward.
I would argue that Baird is a stronger brand.
Why exactly?
harris williams for sure. ask people who are in the finance industry, particulary middle market PE, and they all have a ton of respect for HW. Baird is a good shop too, but not quite the same level. HW is known is a deal churning shop with high integrity. harris williams and william blair would be a tougher choice
What about the London?
HW only has 3 analysts and 2 associates here, so I doubt they're taking on many, whereas RWB is established in Europe...
Does this change anything?
Thanks for all the advice so far, I do have a tight deadline so as much info is appreciated
Baird for sure. Also, look at this --
www.mergermarket.com/pdf/americas_deal_drivers_fy2011.pdf
Just run a search for Baird.
Seems like a pretty mixed review...I have already seen that document, thanks though, it is showing rapid improvement for Baird...
If there's anything else I should consider, please feel free to post / PM me
for london and if you are looking to stay there, i would choose rwb.
