and if its negative, you won't prepare? If you think you can get in, by all means apply.
If you think being gay will help you get in, tell them you are gay. Nobody here cares.

"My last internship was in ibd, but I can take it out from my resume as I have 4 other internships to talk about."

"Probably doesn't help much, but I am gay and will disclose this in application."

You are a t(f)ool

Whatever you say, I am just trying out different career options, what interests me most while still in college. My VC internship really makes me think I need a wider network if I am interested in that area. I thought IBD can provide the network (as while working in VC, I have seen many ex-banker joined VC firm or started their company) so I tried it. I think HBS might be most relevant considering knowledge, and the angels+VC network in Boston area.

As for the gay thing, I don't really care about it, but if that's something different from majority on top of applicant's credentials, what's wrong with it. c'mon, if I really want to play that card I might just apply Stanford or become a transgender. Please do not pick on something minor and attack, thanks ;)

I think applicant's background only informs his values, but more importantly it's the whole package - his motivation, what he has done and he what wants to achieve makes the application complete, which I have been talking in the post. I am just wondering whether I should apply now or few years down the road

You have to apply your jr yr. You can't apply for 2+2 a few years down the road. And shouldn't you have already taken your GMAT if you want to apply for the program? I think the deadline is coming up soon.

If HBS takes this guy and I don't even get an interview I'm going to jump off a bridge.

you never know...there are some really random people @ HBS

to OP, its really competitive, there are hundreds more ppl with your credentials or better, but if you get 750+ on GMAT then go ahead and apply

unless you have a leadership position in a gay organization or something of that sort, i dont see how you can bring it up without sounding desperate for diversity points ( i dont think it matters regardless)
