This is for those who are starting their second year, correct?

Any idea about recruiting for new first-years?

Hasn't started yet - just informal coffee chats from at least one MF (guess who)

Thoma Bravo started coffees on Saturday. Many other firms had started them as of today.

Interviews probably to kick off early this week based on historical precedent. Assuming firms will likely offer the choice of either in-person or virtual interviews to candidates.

We started reaching out for coffee chats on Friday. I think our interview process will be fully virtual (levels out the playing field, accelerates timing, don't have to worry about vaccination status, etc.). Would expect it to kick off soon but think we are planning to hold tight.

The coffee chats aren't interviews (not what TA did 2 years ago) but pretty informal chats given the lack of connectivity we have had with prospective candidates. The process didn't kick off when you posted this so please don't mislead people. That said, everyone should be prepared at this point.

I think coffee chats are really the definition of first rounds these days. Come in prepared.

I heard people being invited for "coffee chats." Regardless I'd be prepared for things to kick off quickly at any point. Would highly recommend doing some mocks with Bryant Street Advisors though I wouldn't be surprised if they're swamped right now

Random question as to how you should expect to hear in on-cycle recruiting. This is a generalized question, but will take TB as an example.

Say you met with Gold Coast last week. We know that TB is reaching out to candidates. If TB has not reached out to you, did you get dinged?

Did anyone get an invite to coffee chat with a PE firm from a HH but then the HH ghosted when it came to scheduling coffee chat with said PE firm?
