Hey thanks! Just to check, do you think the first Hermes tie would be OK to wear during an interview?

And is there any way to find previous Hermes tie designs? All the ones I've seen that I really like aren't on their website anymore, and I can't find them on eBay either. My favorite one I've seen is probably the 5394 OA or 5400 OA

I'm kind of set on Hermes because I don't own one yet, and tbh I'm kind of a brand whore haha.

Get over being a brand whore. I'm lucky enough to have gotten a "behind the scenes" look at those brands and you're being ripped off. Quality IS great with those companies but they don't do anything your local tailor won't.

Admittedly I own an expensive Ferragamo but there is a reason for it: one mentor recommended I do so for reasons unique to my background.

If you're in New York go to this shop. They're noticeably better than the Hermes ties and are half the price. Admittedly they don't look as good on the website, but take a few minutes to swing by in person and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Ferragamo ties looks a lot better compared to hermes ties but it sure is a lot expensive. I personally like plain and single colored ties. I don't care if its branded or not as long as it looks good on me. I tried buying once on ebay and encountered this store called Aussie Ties, they sell pretty cheap and good quality ones. Well for a women like me cheap ones are gold since I really don't like spending too much for luxury items.

The first tie looks the best, but $180 is steep. You can get them cheaper. IMO, I have a hermes I love, but I am not itching to buy too many more. Ferragamo ties are nice and get be had cheap.

Personally, look at Pink, BB, Vineyard Vines, etc. All screen print on silk. I second the 7 fold ties or handmade, non-brand ties.

Women will not give a shit about your brand. Those that do will laugh at an analyst with one. Get it if you want, but it isn't going to get you laid.

Of course it's because I performed better and not the tie. The point is as long as its a silk tie for the most part, girls and interviewers won't notice it, and if an interviewer does notice it is a hermes tie he will think, "who is this punk wearing a nicer tie than me?" instead of "boy that sure is a nice tie"
