Hours for Credit Analyst
Hello, I'm looking at a job posting for a job as a credit analyst covering large corporations at a large IB. Does anyone have any idea what kind of hours this job might entail?
Thanks!

I do something similar. Hours arnt bad at all, ranging from 40-55 I'd say. Then again, my group is technically separate from IB (although we frequently work with them), so id be curious to hear what it's like working within one
Mind if I ask what you work in, for comparison?
Corporate banking. PM me if you have any questions
Just received an offer for a pretty similar position. From what I gathered, the hours are from 40-50ish during a normal week, and closer to 60 if things are really hectic.
Just to be clear, is this credit research, risk, or commercial/corporate banking? Credit analyst is sort of a catch all phrase. If its the first then I'd say similiar to S&T. If its the latter two, 40-50, occasionally a 60.
This is for lending, so corporate banking.
Comp?
I just found out I have a rather long in person interview coming up. What kind of questions should I expect?
Is a credit analyst at a BB essentially a risk role? I know it's different at a retail bank.
I do fundamental corporate credit analysis in the risk management department of a BB. If this is what you're asking about, then hours vary by industry vertical as well as deal flow. Usually it will be 40-50 hrs per week, but if you're industry is in a downturn or if deals start picking up, you'll end up hitting 60-70. Hope this helps and good luck for the interview.
Ok thanks!
Sorry for digressing but how does exit opportunities compare between credit analyst (corporate banking) vs. sell-side credit research?
I'd actually be interested in this too. Also, how do they differ between IG and SG corporate banking?
Hey does anyone have any idea what exit ops would look like?
Credit Analyst / Commercial Banking Analyst here (BofA/JPM/WF/Citi).
Worked 13 hours today and 12 hours yesterday.
Thanks. Is that a normal day or is it just a busier period?
I just started, but apparently this is a busier period. I'm in my fourth week and I've worked 40 hours now over the past 3 days.
So far, I'm averaging roughly 60 hours/week but I'm in a specialized group so it could be different for you. It's not bad. I've been told that during a slow period it's more like 50.
