1st year analyst here. How do I quit? Do I just call my staffer and give my two weeks? Wasn't sure how you actually go about it

Bump doing the same this week
That's how I went about it. And then you talk to the HR lady for the formal paperwork
Crazy how banks will just let their analysts and associates walk without even changing the hours / staffing load. Will it get to the point where there are no lateral guys to hire and whoever stays after bonuses get absolutely crushed?
Loyalty is not rewarded.
From the banks perspective, as long as they have thousands of kids lining up to work there is no point in changing culture. They are basically playing moneyball. They over hire knowing that they just need to find a few who are a perfect fit for things to work.
this is such a dumb, short sited mentality. its no wonder why all the top grads just go to tech or straight to buyside
There already aren’t any lateral hires.
Wdym, they haven't been trying to replace the analysts that are quitting?
We've had a few lateral hires but they've been nothing short of useless (don't blame them at all). They may start helping out around fall time, until then though it's still hell
The number of junior bankers running for the doors exceeds the amount of junior bankers needed to process the amount of deal flow. As such, more people get burnt out and leave. It’s a self-fulfilling cycle, even for GS TMT right now.
Did you quit in the end?
Doing this soon, but to lateral to a competitor. Can anyone provide color on when (how many days before new start date) and how I should do this? Do I have to mention I’m going to a competitor? TIA
i think you have to do garden leave right?
couple months or so
What?? Where would I find this in my contract? Have never heard of banking analysts having to take garden leave.
You find the address of your MD, message him to come outside, and quit Andy Bernard style, all over his new Porsche.
