How do the consulting firm get the knowledge of RFPs?
I see a lot of consulting people working on RFP responses.
Most of these RFPs are from private firms and are never listed on their websites.
So, how do the consulting firms get to know of such RFPs?
Is it through the sales teams or partners ?
Though most of the consulting firms are secretive of their clients' identities, however it is common to see McK willing to allow its consulting team to accept offers of employment from its clients. Was that the story behind the below news about McK India head ?

Thanks.
Think for a minute...you own a company...you want to hire a consultant but aren't sure who is the most qualified or price effective....what do you do next...?
Ah. So you say that it is the firms that send their RFPs to consulting firms rather than consulting firms actively seeking them. Got it. Probably that's why there are some consulting firms who never get that 'kind' of RFPs to work on. Mostly S&O or mostly strategic RFP inflow is by client's choice not by failure of a consulting firm to respond and win in a competitive bidding.
