How long until laid off?

Pretty straight forward. Joined a MM TMT group a few months ago - the hours consistently fall around 85 hours. While I understand this is not unusual, as the week drags my work quality falls tremendously (I.E. from lack of sleep, stress etc.). How long does it usually take for banks to lay off under performing analysts. Granted I'm not horrible but realize banking is not a great fit.

from what I’ve heard in networking calls, this is incredibly firm dependent. Some places have no problem firing a bad analyst in 3-6 months of them hitting the desk, while others are much more forgiving and will let a lot slide. Your bonus might take a hit, but especially if the economy is good I’ve heard there’s firms where it’s pretty tough to get the axe. Someone told me a story of a guy on his team that was legitimately awful (and everyone from analyst to MD knew it), but he was a nice guy and no one wanted to go through the process of actually firing him so they let him finish his two years.

Funniest

I ask myself a slightly different question: how long until I finally get laid?

Nah bro I read the WSO thread about bottles and models. IB hours are just incompatible with regular and healthy sex (escorts on Sundays don't count), and PE hours aren't really better so I guess I'll have to turn prison gay
