How much does master's GPA matter - High undergrad

I'm looking to apply to MBA (M7) schools in a few years and I'm finishing out my Master's in Taxation.

Finished with a 3.97 UG GPA but the grading at my school for master's is more difficult so I'm expecting to not have a crazy high GPA for it.

I'm working in MBB starting next year and was wondering how much these master's grades matter, or frankly, what GPA would catch admissions eye/impact me?

Overall, I've found that for most situations, undergrad GPA matters more since most Masters' GPAs are really high (a lot of Masters programs give out a ton of As). That said, if you put both on your resume, both will be seriously considered.

Also, so long as they are both not bad, you should be fine. Your undergrad GPA certainly isn't bad, so I don't think you should be overly worried here.

As for M7 MBA, I'm uncertain as to how they will exactly be looking at both of them since M7 MBAs usually value work experience ahead of GPA. That said, I know a few people from my target undergrad who went to M7 MBAs without crazy GPAs and some who weren't able to get M7 even with a crazy GPA. Overall, with respect to M7 admissions in your case, I'm unsure, but I imagine you're not at all in a bad situation.
