I've been a junior equity execution trader at a hedge fund for a few years but I'd like to move into a more quantitative trading role such as credit, mbs, fx, etc. How would i go about doing this? business school? im currently studying for the CFA level 1 exam, not sure if thatll help.

I work as a quant at a BB and here the main route is getting hired as an analyst. There are very few associates from MBA programs if at all and CFA isn't considered a big deal by most sell side traders as far as I can tell. Might be a completely different story on the buy side.
