Unlikely to make you be viewed differently in CRE. Do it if the class is likely to teach you a useful subject like FSA or M&A. Maybe even something interesting like O&G accounting.
I don't think you know what an accounting class is or what it teaches.
Awkward ok educate me master
tbh, i have an accounting degree too. it looks good on paper but no1 will care if you're just doing traditional REPE. if you know 200 level accounting you probably know more than enough.
If you later decide to get a MBA, you could probably test or get out of MBA accounting core class. You'll be able to take a more interesting class.
Accounting will pay your bills when the world goes to shit. Real estate has down cycles.
No. Taking Accounting 101 is enough.
No, getting another degree in it will not make a difference. Unless you want to get your CPA.
Other than a basic knowledge of accounting, one thing I wish I paid more attention to was business law, with the amount of leases, estoppels, definitions, credit agreements, etc., you end up reading, it'd help to gain a little familiarity in the theory component from a professor. A lot of it is super nuanced, but the general concepts hold across asset classes.
