I applied to some of the top proprietary firms, but haven't heard back yet

I applied to a few proprietary trading firms in NYC, but haven't heard back from any yet. I applied to one a few weeks ago, one last week, and one a few days ago. I feel that I should be proactive to maximize my chance of getting an interview. What should I do next?

Thanks

WSO can be ok for networking, but the real-world face-to-face networking is much, much better. Start with who you know. Branch out from there. It's not easy, but you can do it.

Also, don't miss my third point. Study up here. Use the search function and find some info. People on WSO don't love answering questions that are always on here, so if you can start out a bit more informed, monkeys will be much more welcoming.

I honestly don't know anybody in trading. I'm really on my own. I don't know who to contact. Should I call the companies now and ask them if they looked at my resume? I'm afraid of annoying them.

Of those 3, Chimera is crap, Trillium's reputation isn't all that great and SIG is extremely difficult to break into (not going to happen from an online app).

I wouldn't be too concerned about not getting a response from them, the odds of getting a job through an online app in the US are basically infinitesimal, especially for legit prop shops.

How should I contact SIG? I looked at their interview questions on Glassdoor and I don't think they were very difficult, especially compared to what I hear about Jane Street. I will apply to Jane Street after I get more practice. I'm getting good at mental math, but I'm a little unsure how I want to answer the questions when they ask how sure are you?
