Tad curious why you feel it would be harder to re-recruit? How far are you contemplating moving? I would say moving to somewhere with around 2 hours of commute (in case you need to come in for client meetings) would be ideal.
And yeah, I would move. It’s going to happen anyway, especially with senior ish bankers etc. So why not.
Personally, no. I would not relocate out even if I didn’t get a pay cut, I actually want to live in the city. Then again, I’ve never experienced living in nyc, so that could be it and after a few years of experiencing what everyone complains about, I’ll want to move.
