On the off chance it is / you have insight - curious what the deal with the team is. I never heard of them as having a big rx presence, but they seem to be ramping up aggressively. Were there some meaningful senior hires I should’ve noticed who are ramping up to go big?

The community is helping the VP lol. Restructuring firms are having a hard time hiring after seeing a significant amount of exits with limited interest from your traditional sources of lateral candidates.

If i told you that the process of sifting through random PMs on WSO, setting up follow-on calls, talking to HR to get people in, then convincing people on my team to spend time talking to you, is not worth $5,000 after tax to me, would you be surprised? Am I being ridiculous by saying I don't care about $5K after tax?
I care about helping people deserving who may not otherwise have a shot, and for bringing good talent into my group.

For VPs/MDs who try to build out a team at a bank, as in this scenario, how do they normally go about filling in junior talent? I would suspect they first look at their network, but would they really know a number of people with a certain niche background? Do the otherwise use the usually channels such as HH/formal website job postings?
Yes to all. Less external recruiters. There are internal lateral recruiters with a core part of their job being to find candidates so they will email ppl on LinkedIn etc.

Probably not much at the analyst level except 1) you had a falling out with someone on your team or 2) you want to do more or a different kind of restructuring and ur stuck on a bad deal in your limited time as an analyst and can't get off, or 3) you want to stay as an associate and the opportunity is not there for wtvr reason.
At the associate level its a bit of the same at the analyst level + you don't see opportunity above you to grow
At the VP/MD level it's because you're not feeling like the promotion path is there or someone senior has it out for you
At the partner level it's because you're competing with your other partners and want more flexibility / white space another platform may provide for wtvr reason

What advice would you give to someone who is currently working in RX consulting (AP / A&M) thinking of moving to RX banking apart from looking at the restructuringinterviews and wallstreetprep course?
Also how would you say a VP role on RX banking is diff to VP in M&A? It seems to be RX is much more MD driven than M&A to an extent?
